 Solar Project Engineer or Site/Field Installation Engineer

2. Background / Purpose of the TOR


The company is expanding its business in solar PV plant installation. To strengthen the team, the company is seeking a solar installation engineer capable of reviewing project design, performing an efficient project execution plan that ensures safety & profitability and ensuring installation quality & alignment with the company quality guidelines.

3. Purpose of the Role


To ensure the safe and efficient installation & maintenance of PV plants while maintaining the company quality guidelines.

4. Scope of Work

  • Manage & execute the company’s process for solar PV plant installation.
  • Solar PV plant design review.
  • Develop project execution & maintenance plans according to the project budget.
  • Site management includes material delivery from the warehouses & factory to site and the safe return of company assets to the warehouse.
  • Installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of solar PV plants and their components.
  • Handle, maintain & update all project documentation including reports & drawings.
  • Troubleshooting solar PV plants.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Report to top management upon request.

5. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the solar PV plant project design file is complete before field execution.
  • Collaborate with the design team to handle any execution issues.
  • Ensure the correct material has been safely delivered on-site.
  • Preserve the company assets and ensure the company equipment, tools & material safely turn to the warehouse.
  • Ensure the solar PV plant installation & commissioning are executed in accordance with the approved design file, approved budget & company quality guidelines.
  • Always ensure a safe working environment for all personnel & equipment.
  • Supervise contractors and technicians during field work.
  • Report regularly to the top management on quality, performance and incidents.
  • Sign the necessary documentation from the customer.

6. Deliverables

  • Project execution documentation including but not limited to site reports, material delivery forms, test certificates & time sheets.
  • Complete project documentation.
  • Project balance sheet.
  • Top management reports.

7. Duration & Contract Type

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Probation period: 3 months (per Egyptian Labor Law).

8. Reporting & Supervision

  • Reports directly to the Managing Director.
  • Works closely with production supervisors and safety officers.

12. Job requirements

Working Experience

  • 0-2 years

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, mechanical engineering or related field.

Technical Skills

  • Good knowledge of renewable energy systems.
  • Good knowledge of power systems.
  • Good knowledge of power electronics.
  • Good knowledge of health, safety & environment basics.

Additional Technical Skills (any experience is a plus)

  • Field testing & commissioning (electrical, electromechanical or solar PV).
  • System Design (electrical, electromechanical or solar PV).
  • PV system design & modeling using software like PVsyst, Helioscope, Aurora Solar or equivalent.
  • AutoCAD / EPLAN for single-line diagrams and layouts.
  • Simulation tools: PVSyst, Helioscope, Aurora Solar.
  • Shading analysis tools: Solmetric SunEye, drones for site surveys.
  • Monitoring systems: SCADA, data loggers, inverter monitoring platforms.
  • Land survey & measurements.

Language Skills

  • Fluency in Arabic & English is a must.
  • Fluency in additional languages is highly preferable

Other Requirements

  • Work on weekends and official holidays if required.
  • Travel up to 60% of the time.
