Power Quality & Motor Analyzers
Fluke 438-II
The Fluke 438-II Power Quality and Motor Analyzer is a dual-function diagnostic tool designed for both electrical power quality analysis and mechanical motor performance evaluation—without requiring mechanical sensors. It's ideal for industrial environments, motor-driven systems, and predictive maintenance workflows.
Electrical Power Quality Analysis
Voltage & Current: Measures RMS voltage/current, frequency, power (active, reactive, apparent), and power factor.
Harmonics: Up to the 50th harmonic for voltage and current.
Unbalance Detection: Voltage and current unbalance to identify phase issues.
Transient Capture: Records waveform data at 200 kS/s on all phases up to 6 kV.
PowerWave™ Technology: Captures fast RMS data and half-cycle averages to analyze dynamic events like generator startups or UPS switching
Motor Analyzer Capabilities
Motor Speed (RPM): Derived from electrical signals and motor nameplate data.
Torque & Mechanical Power: Calculates torque and output power in kW or hp.
Motor Efficiency: Evaluates how effectively electrical energy is converted to mechanical work.
De-rating Factor: Plots motor performance against load per NEMA guidelines.
No Mechanical Sensors Needed: All mechanical parameters are derived from electrical inputs
